world human rights day ! ?
today on human right day , i was thinking about the problem of slums in a country . we call the slums as the ‘cancer ’ of a city . this perception has been created by some writers who had not actually visited the slum areas . in the major cities , major part of the population actually lives in the slum . take for example ; Mumbai (india ) , where 54% population lives in the slums who comprise most of the productive population . so the solution of the problem of slums not that they should be removed away from tha city . if such things take place then whole of the city would collapse . actuallly its not a feasible solution of the problem .
today most of the highly populated and urbanised cities and megalopolis of the world are facing the problem of slums . the people living in slums also have right to live in proper conditions . today we talk about human rights , right to equality , right to live , right to property . these all are not working for this part of the society . which have created the occurances of insecurity , injustice , inequality which ultimately results into crime , lack of confidance , poor health facilities etc . if i talk about reality , people in the slum area area forced to live in unhygeinic conditions . about 10 person live in a small room on a floor . there are no proper ventilation and toilet facilities and the worst is the water and electricity issue .
the questions remains who created this . today alsmost all the countries are on the way of becomming capitalist . which have created the gap more wider beteen the rich and poor that is between the have and have nots . today the industrialists influence the government policies . the ultimate reason is the poverty . in recent time , we talk about the developping countries , making their GDP . GNP , per capita income higher and higher . no doubt that these developping and developped countries are becomming more and more financially growing but the reality is that percentage of people below povery line have also increased .
today the human has become an economic man ; it has lost humanity inside it . the only motive of the man is to make profit .
the idea of the humanism ie. ‘live and let other live ’ , today has transformed into , ‘live and if any problem comes , leave it side and dont make other live ’ .
so at last i would only say BE HUMAN !
